drops

i waited at the shed.
rain poured so hard that it brought its friend
of cold wind.
umbrellas danced to the rhythm of the
6:59 pm waltz of rain and wind.

the light from the gasoline station exhibited
the highlight of the night.
he even suggested me to stay.
i knew nothing of going home to trouble myself.

i should have put my hands on the pocket of
my jacket.
i should have let the rain wet my face.
i should have walked on the rain.
i should have stayed or should have gone somewhere else.
i should have kept my mouth shut.

the array of trees oh so sturdy
kept me in my direction of absurdity.

and,

i should have not gone home this time.
